Copiapoa humilis ssp. australis

Copiapoa humilis ssp. australis Copiapoa humilis ssp. australis
Date: 2003 September 20

This attractive Copiapoa was described by Paul Hoxey in the British Cactus & Succulent Journal, Vol. 22 No. 1, March 2004. It was discovered in Chile in February 2001 by an expedition consisiting of Paul Hoxey, Clarke Brunt, Alfred Lau, and Jean Ellwood.

This specimen in my collection was grown from seed collected in habitat in 2001, and is grafted on Pereskiopsis. The plant does not present any difficulties when grown on its own roots, and this one was grafted merely to speed up growth.
