This tiny plant, dwarfed by its flower, was grown from seed sown in 1997. Flowers can be expected on Turbinicarpus seedlings after perhaps two years if they are grown well. The plant is only 1.5cm in diameter, while the flower is 4cm long. as

Here is a picture of the same species which I saw growing in its native habitat in Mexico in 1996.
